The office Closes at Noon on Saturday & reopens on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.

MANAGERS’ MESSAGE:
Just a reminder that if you are planning to have renters or anyone staying in your mobile home in your absence, they must be approved by the park first, as per Desert View MHC Rules & Regulations. Please contact the office if this is the case. We will assist and it is not a difficult process!

TIDBITS:
Be sure to check the bulletin board for potluck or party postings in October!

October Birthday Party … Friday, October 17 at 1:00 p.m. Please mark your calendar! We provide cake & ice cream for everyone – all you have to do is show up and enjoy a sweet treat!

DHS Health & Wellness Center … has a state of the art fitness center, available for use to individuals who live, or work in Desert Hot Springs. Memberships are available for only $50 per year! They also offer personalized fitness plans, Yoga classes, & Zumba classes. It is in the same building as The Boys & Girls Club – a flyer is attached if you are interested!
Operation Food Bag … is “helping people eat better for less”. No qualifying necessary & everyone is welcome! You may not be aware of it so there is a flyer attached for your reference.

Dogs … must be on a leash not to exceed six feet in length and PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG PROMPTLY! There have been complaints of residents walking their dog and not picking up. Ugh…

WHAT IS OCTOBER?
October is the tenth month of the year in the Julian & Gregorian Calendars and one of seven months with a length of 31 days. October is commonly associated with the season of autumn in the Northern hemisphere. In the western world, October is also commonly associated with Halloween (All Hallows Eve), which initiates the season of “Allhallowtide”.

MANAGERS’ MESSAGE:
We are pleased to report that our owners have contracted with Desert Alarm, Inc.to install cameras at our front gate as well as laser technology with alarms surrounding the RV storage area. This is a costly improvement for our park and we thank the Conways for taking these measures to improve the security of Desert View residents and RVer’s!

TIDBITS:
June Birthday Party … Friday, June 27th at 1:00 p.m. We provide cake & ice cream for everyone – all you have to do is show up!

June “Luau” Potluck … Saturday, June 21st at 4:00 p.m. Hams will be provided by the HOA. Please sign up if you plan to attend. Grass skirts are not required! Hula dancers are welcome!

Coyotes … Just a word of caution for your pets – a resident reported seeing two coyotes in the park at night recently! Do what you can to keep your pets safe – keep them inside at night if possible. Please do not leave foods outside to attract “critters”.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO OUR DESERT VIEW DADS!

The occasion of Father’s Day was first celebrated in the U.S. in 1908, History.com reported. The governor of Washington proclaimed the country’s first statewide Father’s Day on July 19, 1910. President Woodrow Wilson supported the day but never made it official nationwide, according to the Library of Congress. President Calvin Coolidge suggested people celebrate it as a national event in 1924, calling it a day to “establish more intimate relations between fathers and their children and to impress upon fathers the full measure of their obligations, “but Father’s Day wasn’t made a permanent national holiday until Richard Nixon did so in 1972”. Father’s Day is now celebrated in Canada on the third Sunday in June.
